

Happy Birthday to the dance legend Mikhail Baryshnikov (January 27, 1948) in honor of your 78th birthday O&A NYC Magazine decided to share one of balletomanes favorite cinematic dance moments.

The opening ballet sequence from the film White Nights (1985), Le Jeune Homme et La Mort was originally choreographed by Roland Petit in 1946. This excerpt from the original ballet was designed for the film and performed with a renewing vigor by Baryshnikov and Florence Faure. The opening segment was filmed at the Bristol Hippodrome.
