What begins as a detour to Kingston, New York reveals itself as something closer to a pilgrimage. Thoroughbred New York the passion project of former actor Laird Macintosh is, by his own quiet estimation, the only all-vintage Ralph Lauren shop in North America.

Laird speaks about Ralph Lauren the way one speaks about a philosophy rather than a fashion label: the cowboy one day, the Wall Street banker the next, always and entirely yourself. In an era of infinite scroll and instant inventory, Thoroughbred operates on appointment-only, and on the belief that a few beautiful things, chosen carefully, can genuinely elevate a life.
