PHILADANCO! (The Philadelphia Dance Company) returns to New York City for a highly anticipated six performance season at The Joyce Theater from July 29 through August 2, 2026. This celebrated company’s mission, to preserve the Black American concert dance traditions, will be on full display with a program featuring two New York premieres, a world premiere, and a company revival. “Danco’s” dynamic New York City season will include works by Co-Artistic Director Tommie-Waheed Evans, Thang Dao, Rennie Harris and Christopher Huggins.

The high anticipated New York City return will offer a diverse program showcasing the company’s strong artistic and technical prowess. Philadanco’s Co-Artistic Director Tommie-Waheed Evans will offer a dance theatre love letter with the New York premiere of Promise Me You Won’t Call. Without Witness (New York premiere), an ensemble work for nine dancers by Thang Dao marks the choreographer’s third work created for Philadanco. TO PHILLY…LOVE, RENNIE (World Premiere) by hip hop phenom Rennie Harris features the music the “Sound of Philadelphia” the legendary style of soul music created by the Philadelphia International Records label. And back by popular demand Christopher Huggins’ high energy fast paced ensemble work Enemy Behind the Gates (25th Anniversary Revival) is still considered one of the company’s masterworks and remains a powerful dance declaration.
