
HBO has released the first official teaser for its upcoming Harry Potter series adaptation, officially titled Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone. Based on J.K. Rowling’s beloved books, the eight-episode first season will debut on HBO and stream exclusively on HBO Max in Christmas 2026.

The extensive cast includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Rounding out the faculty and key figures are John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Additional notable casting includes Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, and Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy. The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes and executive producing alongside J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman. Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone premieres Christmas 2026.
