
Netflix has delivered a first look at Tyler Perry’s upcoming wartime drama starring Kerry Washington.Titled The Six Triple Eight, the official logline of the film reads that it “is inspired by the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas in WWII. Given an extraordinary mission and united in their determination, these unsung heroes delivered hope and shattered barriers.” In the film, Washington plays Major Charity Adams, who is seen in the railer, leading and commanding the battalion of women soldiers.

The Six Triple Eight features a star-studded cast that includes Oprah Winfrey, Susan Sarandon, Ebony Obsidian, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, Jay Reeves, Jeffery Johnson, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Donna Biscoe, Gregg Sulkin and Scott Daniel Johnson.The Six Triple Eight is slated to premiere in theaters on December 6 before hitting Netflix on December 20.
