He began recording in 1954 with Decca Records, and his albums went to number one in the United States. Sammy was also known for his impersonations of other celebrities. In this performance, the magic of Sammy Davis Jr. is captured with fifteen memorable songs which include What Kind Of Fool Am I, One For My Baby, One More For The Road and This Could Be The Start Of Something Big. Litefeet is a rising music genre and style of dance that has become increasingly popular within the New York subway scene. The genre is highlighted by 100-BPM tracks as well as an acrobatic take on old school b-boy moves and pop-locking. The founding members were Patti LaBelle (formerly Patricia Holt), Sundray Tucker, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash. Tucker left before the group cut their first record and was replaced by Cindy Birdsong. Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music the 1981 Broadway musical revue, written for and starring American singer and actress Lena Horne. The show opened on May 12, 1981, and after 333 performances, closed on June 30, 1982, Horne’s 65th birthday. In 1981 Horne also won a special Tony Award at the 35th Tony Awards, a special award from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle, and the City of New York’s Handel Medallion. At the 24th Grammy Awards, Quincy Jones and Horne won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, and Horne won the Grammy for Best Vocal Performance, Female. Continue reading
