Deeply Rooted Dance Theater presented Generations II Here’s To Life! for three performances; Friday, November 21 through Sunday November 23 in the James and Martha Duffy Performance Space at the Mark Morris Dance Center, downtown Brooklyn. The Chicago based ensemble presented a concert that was deeply rooted in the dance theatre tradition. Artistic Director Kevin Iega Jeff and Associate Artistic Director Gary Abbott have made the courageous decision to offer original dance works that ranged from dance narratives to theatrical abstract works with strong dramatic undertones. J Dilla’s estate pay homage to the missed hip-hop beat maker with a 7.5″-tall vinyl toy made in collaboration with Detroit artist Sintex. The toy was designed and sculpted by Seoul-based toy artist P2PL. Stussy’s logo officially licensed the figurine, which comes with a removable hat, chain and MPC sampler. Continue reading

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is the newest member of the Nike Basketball signature sneaker family. Nike designer Leo Chang created the sneaker for Irving’s tremendous speed and quickness on the court. The three design elements that distinguish the Kyrie 1: the Nike Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot for added responsiveness, 360-degree grip around the midsole and a Hyper fuse upper for stability.
