Summerstage in association with the Joyce Theater will present a one night only dance and live music event tomorrow July 22nd at Central Park’s The Rumsey Playfield. Doors open at 7 pm and the performance starts promptly at 8pm. A tribute to the legendary women of jazz, the two hour presentation will feature LaTasha Barnes’ The Jazz Continuum, Paul Taylor Dance Company and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Joyce Theater Program Director Danni Gee graciously sit down with O&A NYC Magazine Editor-in Chief Walter Rutledge to discussed tomorrow’s concert.

12/13/24 O&A NYC DANCE: A Conversation with Lloyd Knight -The Drama (A Self Portrait)

Lloyd Knight’s solo dance work, The Drama will have its preview public performances Friday, December 13, 7pm, and Saturday, December 14, 6pm, at the Martha Graham Studio Theater, 55 Bethune Street, 11th Floor, in Manhattan’s West Village/Meatpacking district. Commissioned by the Guggenheim’s Works & Process The Drama is being presented on conjunction with Fall 2024 Studio Series and will have it official premiere on January 13th, 2025, 7pm, at the Guggenheim Museum. 2/2/23 O&A NYC MORE HARKNESS STORIES: William Starrett Visiting Mrs. Harkness’s Nassau Home With David Howard and Gelsey Kirkland

An American Ballet Story, a documentary about the the all too short life of the Harkness Ballet, will have it’s New York live screening premiere on April 20th at the New York Public Library Performing Arts – Bruno Walter Auditorium. O&A NYC Magazine. Editor in Chief Walter Rutledge will moderate the post screening Q and A. An American Ballet Story takes us into the stages and studios of the Harkness Ballet through the stories of the dancers who were there. The screening is free but you must reserve seating in advance.
